  so i was outside today cleaning the inside of my car and up stroll two jw's.

  they have been around here a lot the past couple of weeks.

  lol anyways i don't know either of these two clowns and they ask how i am and i said not to ask.

  my dad was my hero and died of cancer some years ago.

  he was the po in a congregation before his death.

  he was in the army during ww2 and when he came out his first marriage went down the khazi.

  The resentment raised-in's feel is natural; I constantly feel the tug between the deep love and respect for my parents and the intense hatred for the way they let the cult raise me.

  Two things I try to remember are:

  1-My Mom and non-practicing Dad are being controlled and they don't see it; to them it WAS the best way and they were blinded to any other.

  2-Because they are brainwashed it's not entirely their fault, so place the blame where blame is due; condemn the WTBT$ and direct your anger towards the cult, they deserve it.

  This has helped me come to terms with the way I was raised and show compassion towards my family who are still blind; it also assists in counteracting the guilt and bitterness, along with making things more peaceful.

  this forum would probably not be a good measuring stick for answering that question.

  god is supposed to put it into the heart of the beast (u.n.) to hate the harlot (religion) and destroy her.

  do you see this happening or is this another "we're seeing more earthquakes" thing?.

  Sport hunting and fishing means it is a form of recreation that produces a reward for your effort.

  I "sport" fish and most of my limited time off is spent on a boat fishing/crabbing/shrimping or at a beach digging clams; I don't take more than I can use. I don't hunt because I live on a small farm and raise my own beef, so why would I want to spend major $$$ to freeze my ass of in the woods?

  The difference between what I do and what someone who kills for fun does is I don't waste ANYTHING.

  Anyone who hunts or fishes and wastes should have their licenses and gear taken away.

  wifey attends the spanish cong, so when we ran late in our errands, she started to get upset that she was going to miss the special talk.

  i told her again, and i reminded her that we already talked about this topic.

  I was "sick" and managed to get out of going, but I find it amusing that, when my family came back from the meat-ing, they told me about the exciting announcement and nothing more.

  The talk couldn't have been very "special" if a 30 second declaration can over shadow it.

  If there were actually ANYTHING new, or good, it would have been all my Mom wanted to talk about, but nope, not even an honorable mention.

  true story ........so i was standing in line at the hardware store yesterday, picking up some garden stuff and happened to catch the conversation in front of me.

  the man in front of me was buying a no soliciting sign.

  the checker asked "who is this for, girl scouts?

  The preaching work is like a dog chasing its tail.

  No matter how hard rover tries he never seems to "get it"; he just keeps trying and trying and trying to no avail.

  The constant tail chasing is not only annoying but every one is laughing at him and saying, "what a stupid dog".

  Are Jehovah's Witnesses any better/nicer/kinder/more loving/anything positive than members of any other religions or those not adhering to any religion?

  There may be some good or kind one's in the bunch, but collectively as a group they are worse than most.

  They only serve themselves, and the last time I checked that wasn't better/nicer/kinder/more loving or positive.

  when literature used to be sold d2d, i remember how the society never missed an opportunity to trash other religions for "peddling god's word for profit" while boasting about how the watchtower only charges for the cost of the paper and ink.. in the book "witnesses of jehovah", the author mentioned that randall watters used to be involved in print cost analysis and determined that, while we were selling wt & awake mags for 20 cents door-to-door, it was really only costing the society 4 cents per copy to produce.

  that's a whopping 400% profit!.

  obviously, things have changed... the paper is different, as well as the ink and printing methods in general.

  Profit is of the utmost importance. WHY?

  Every corporation has shareholders and the corporation has a fiduciary responsibility to said shareholders; meaning a corporation has a legal liability to make money for its shareholders.

  So someone somewhere IS benefiting, we just don't know whom.

  Double speak is one of the ways they can change doctrine and still be able to make you believe that's not what they said/did. YOU must have read/gotten it wrong (you know because they're always right).
